🍽️ Where to eat

L'Auberge de François & Mélanie — Lac d'Estaing

Our absolute favorite.
A traditional mountain inn like you rarely find anymore, right by the lake.
Feel free to tell them you’re staying with us 🙂

La Table d'Ayzi — Argelès-Gazost

For a special evening, this is the place we recommend in town.
Refined cuisine, warm atmosphere.

Don’t miss it under any circumstances.
It’s huge, it’s impressive, the whole town is practically shut down for it. That should give you an idea.
Only local, farm products from nearby producers.
A true taste of the region.

The Tuesday Morning Market— Argelès-Gazost

🧀 La Caverne de l'Ours

A true Ali Baba’s cave right in the center of Argelès.

You go in for cheese… and come out an hour later with your arms full.
Even after years, we still discover something new every time.

The cheese is a must, but above all, don’t leave without trying the raclette.
Béatrice’s version is on another level.

🥾 Trails & Hikings

The Pyrenees start right here.
Some trails begin directly from our doorstep.

We’re lucky to live at the foot of some of the most beautiful routes here are a few we love

The GR10 (from our doorstep)

It literally starts in front of the house and leads up to the lake. A section of one of France’s most iconic long-distance trails, accessible right from your door.

Pic Arrouy

The peak you can see from the house, facing south.
It’s been watching you since you arrived — you might as well go visit it.

Lake Estaing Loop

Easy, accessible to everyone, and absolutely stunning.
The perfect first hike.

Thermal Baths

Argelès-Gazost’s thermal baths are less than 20 minutes away. The Pyrenees have a long spa tradition,
this is the perfect place to enjoy it, especially after a long hike.
